Utilizing Social Media During Hurricane #Sandy
March 27, 2013
1:30 PM EST - 2:30
Online Webinar through WebEx
As Hurricane Sandy hit the shore of New York in late October last year, Emily monitored the FDNY Twitter feed and responded to those most in need. As power was lost through various parts of the city, social media became not only a source of information for emergency responders, but also a lifeline for many residents caught in Sandy's wrath. Emily worked through the night, responding directly to those trapped and correcting false information on the web. Emily will share her story and lessons learned from monitoring and responding to the FDNY Twitter account during the height of the hurricane. In addition, attendees will be provided customizable Facebook and Twitter templates for various biological, chemical, radiological and weather related incidents.
About Emily Rahimi
